Krishna Consciousness Vs Sex

Lord Krishna: " And whoever, at the time of death, quits his body, remembering Me alone, at once attains My nature. Of this there is no doubt. "(Bhagavad Gita 8.5)

Today, in this world, we see that nearly everyone is depressed and having stress, tension and various other ailments. The world is burning in the heat of sexual desires and acts. A true brahmachari is the happiest person in the world. Worldly people, who are involved in sexual pleasures & desires, can never understand the condition of a true brahmachari. Worldly people regularly drain out their energies in the form of masturbation & sex, thinking that they will achieve something. But at the end, their life is completely destroyed. According to a research, nearly 90% diseases in people of today's times are directly or indirectly related with masturbation, watching porn and having sexual intercourse. Sexual practices first give you pleasure & you do not find any harm doing that but later your mind & physical body becomes so devastated and dirty that they are unable to accomplish even daily tasks. Even seeing a girl, woman, and boy, man nude and naked can destroy a person’s life completely.
Although sexologists & psychiatrists of today advise to have moderation in masturbation, watching porn and doing sexual intercourse. But moderation could also lead to an addiction because your mind always wants pleasurable things & acts. Therefore, the mind assumes infinite pleasure in sexual acts & makes them a habit. But since there is a limit to everything in the universe- earth, your life and so, there is a limit of taking pleasure from sexual acts. Sex for progeny/ children is highly recommended. But, people of today's times involve themselves instantly in achieving sexual gratification after marriage and then they take responsibility of bearing a child. That is why, children are not mentally, physically, spiritually and culturally strong these days. They have very less immunity and do not have enthusiasm to perform big tasks. Not only they get infected with various sorts of diseases but most of the children spend their beautiful lives running behind satisfaction of their bodily senses.

But, you may ask – OK, I will not take pleasure from sexual acts but I want infinite pleasure. What are the ways of achieving that? Well, this is a very good question. In my research on various ways of achieving pleasure, happiness - almost harmlessly & without any side- effects. I will recommend you to become a Krishna consciousness person. However, you may ask that even ISKCON was blamed for sexual exploitation. But believe me ISKCON has completely changed in 21st
Century. Now, the authorities at ISKCON are more alert than ever and there are strict eyes on gurus and disciples. If you don’t want to go to ISKCON because of some circumstances, then you can also observe brahmacharya/ celibacy & Krishna consciousness at your place.
Here are some useful tips:-

1. Chant Hare Krishna Mahamantra in different tones all day so that your mind never gets bored (you can watch & download them from youtube.com). The famous ones are: Hare Krishna Mahamantra by Nitai Priya Prabhu, H.H. Agnideva Das, Jagjit Singh.
2. It is highly recommended that you eat only satvik food which means: No meat, chicken, flesh, beef, eggs, fish, pork, mutton, keema and other dead animals. No alcohol, caffeine and CO2containing drinks. No spicy, very hot & cold food so that it do not burn your internal organs & makes your mind restless. No tea, coffee, cold- drinks. Satvik food contains – fresh & homemade food, fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, milk, fruit juices, lime juice, coconut water etc.
3. Purity comes from the mind. Therefore, you should- listen good speeches & sayings from people like: Srila Prabhupada (ISKCON), Swami Vivekananda, Speakers of Srimad Bhagavatam; listen peaceful & soothing bhajans from: Sri Vinod Agarwal, Sri Anil Hanslas, Sri Rameshbhai Ojha, Sri Mridul Goswami ji, Vikram Hazra (The Art of Living Foundation), Rishi Nityapragya (The Art of Living Foundation), ISKCON. You can watch & download from youtube.com. Initially, you will get bored because your mind is so much filled with maya or desires that it cannot bend towards bhajans but you have to fight with your mind. You can take help from technology- save these bhajans in your mobile, tablet and laptop and regularly listen them for 24 hours (even during sleep), so that your mind has no time and way to distract.
4.  Read good & spiritual literature. You are nothing but a tiny point on the world map but yet you can command over hundreds of people. Good association with self- realized saints & sages leads to the upliftment of character & mind. Suggested readings are: Divine Inspiration- Sex free life, The Importance of Celibacy, Swami Vivekananda on Brahmacharya/ Celibacy, Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavat Maha Puran, Autobiography of a yogi by Paramhansa Yagananda, Books by Swami Vivekananda & other saints from Ramakrishna Math,Books by Swami Sivananda, Vedas, Puranas, Upanishads, Books by H.H. Asaramji Bapu, Books By ISKCON, Gitapress (Gorakhpur), Shri Ram Sharma Acharya, etc.
5. Do not visit or try to visit any pornographic & adult website as after visiting one or more times you will become addicted to them. Also, it should be highly recommended that you should not visit torrent sites because they also contain adult material.
6. Try to associate with good people and remain in their company, pure devotees of Lord Krishna, Elders, Saints. Also visit temples & holy places regularly. If you are interested in Lord Krishna, then all ISKCON Temples are very nice places of interest. When you remain in good company, the positive thoughts enter your mind and drive away the negative thoughts. There is a famous quote:- “Tell me who your friends are & I’ll tell you who you are.”
7. God loves music. Learn one musical instrument of your interest like- Tabla, Piano, Guitar, Sitar, Harmonium, Dholak, Pakhawaj, Flute, Drum- sets etc and then chant at least 16 rounds of Mahamantra on them in different tunes.
8. Always try to do good things in life. Whenever or wherever you get chance to help others, however tiny it is, please extend your help. Avoid doing wrong things against your consciousness like: speaking lies, stealing money and other items, talking in a harsh and abusive language, conning, gambling, illicit sex, masturbation, fingering etc as they will lead to guilt feelings in your mind and depression and various other physical & mental illnesses.
9. Write God’s name & mantras often and every time you are free. God’s names include:-Krishna, Gopal, Govind, Madhusudan, Mohan, Keshav, Hari, Narayan, Vasudev, Ram, Shyam, Radha, Hanuman, Maruti, Bhole Bhandari, Shankar, Shiva, Mahesh, Durga, Lakshmi, Bhagavati, Jagdambe, Saraswati, Gayatri Mata etc. Mantras include:- Hare Krishna Mahamantra, Om Namah Shivay, Hari Om, Om namo Bhagavate Vasudevey namah, Om hanu hanu hanu hanumate namah, Om em namah, Jai mata di, Om durgaye namah, Om guruve namah, Om suryaye namah, Om Ganeshaye namah etc. You can make a separate notebook for God’s names & mantra writing. If you want to achieve some sidhi or power, you have to write nearly 1 crore times in your life following brahmacharya/ celibacy (compulsory for all).

10. Make a daily diary. Write the things & tasks you do in a day. Also, write- what food you ate that day, whom you met, where you visited, what you read and what special you have done.
